The purpose of Conestoga’s English curriculum is to provide continued, concentrated instruction in written composition and oral communication, and to focus on the literature of America, Europe, and other world cultures.
- Written Communication: The goal of instruction in composition is to help students develop confidence in their ability to express ideas effectively in writing. A research component is part of yearlong courses.
- Oral Communication: Every student engages in a number of speech activities during each course.
- Literature: In addition to thoughtful, critical analysis of literature, a major goal of the literature program is to acquaint students with their global literary heritage.
