• Morning Announcements - Friday January 20, 2017

    ONE: Good morning T/E! Today is FRIDAY, JANUARY 20th, 2017 and it is NATIONAL CHEESE LOVER’S DAY. It is also day SIX of the schedule. Today’s lunch menu includes STUFFED-CRUST PIZZA.

     

    TWO: Spring Sports are just around the corner. Any7th and 8th Grade Students who are interested in playing Spring Sports should make sure all paperwork is together. Athletes who played a Fall or Winter Sport this year only need to have a re-certification form completed for Spring. Students who have not already played a sport this school year will need to have a physical exam from a doctor. All forms are available on the TEMS website or in the Main Office. Please see Mrs. Morris with any questions.

     

    ONE: LEGO Club will NOT meet on Tuesday, January 24. 

     

    TWO: Back by popular demand - the 5th & 6th grade Social will be at Arnold's Go Karts in Oaks on Friday, March 3rd from 12:30 - 3:00pm. Cost is $22.50 in advance or $25 cash for walk-ins. Activities include: Go Karts, Laser tag, Bumper Cars, Krazy Cars, Black light mini golf & Arcade. Lunch will be served. Stay tuned for more information about sign-ups and permission slips.

    ONE: Congratulations to the winners of the TEMS grade-level spelling bees conducted in January.  The winners competed in the school-wide spelling bee held on January 19th, and all did very well.  Congratulations go to each the following students for their accomplishment:

    From 8th Grade – John M. and Eric Z.
    From 7th Grade - Charity X. and Sophia P.
    From 6th Grade - Matthew V. and Ved R.
    From 5th Grade - Bethany Y. and Shreya V.

    The winner of the school-wide bee was John M., and the runner up was Bethany Y.  John will be representing TEMS at the county bee on Wednesday February 22, 2017.

     

    TWO: The 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Valley Forge in a complete team win. Everyone played good defense as Patrick R got steals and deflections.  Jack D did the damage inside and sharpshooters Peter D, Matt M and Sal M hit from long range to extend our lead.

     

    ONE: The 7th grade girls basketball team defeated their cross town rivals from Valley Forge yesterday in a thrilling overtime battle.  Ava led the Bulldogs with 8 points, while Lainey dominated the glass grabbing too many rebounds to count.  Maris, Ashley, Ella, Melissa and Marissa all contributed on offensive.  Molly, Paige, Sophia, Maya and Elizabeth were all great on defense as the Bulldogs held the much taller Eagles in check for most of the game.  In the end, Maris grabbed a clutch rebound and ran the clock out to preserve the one point win.  Great Job girls!

    SC: Thanks to everyone who dressed up for PJ Day today. There will be raffle to win a WaWa gift card at lunches for all who are participating.

    ONE: Good morning T/E! Today is THURSDAY, JANUARY 19th, 2017 and it is NATIONAL POPCORN DAY. It is also day FIVE of the schedule. Today’s lunch menu includes HOMEMADE SHEPARD’S PIE.

    ONE: Good morning T/E! Today is WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18th, 2017 and it is NATIONAL WINNIE THE POOH DAY. It is also day FOUR of the schedule. Today’s lunch menu includes FRENCH TOAST WITH SAUSAGE PATTY.

     

    TWO: LEGO Club will not be held on Tuesday, January 24. 

     

    ONE: The boys 7th grade basketball team dominated Welsh Valley yesterday and everyone contributed to the win. The 3 guard line-up of Ben, Pun and Michael shredded the defense consistently and Zach and Kevin did the hard work on the inside.

    The wind chill makes it feels like 34 degrees.

    Today we’ll have a high of 48 degrees with CLOUDY.

    ONE: In sports news today, the wrestling team travels to Haverford. Tomorrow, the basketball teams face off against arch rival Valley Forge, with the boys’ team playing here at TEMS. The girls’ team heads over there for the match up.

  • Morning Announcements - Tuesday, January 17, 2017

    ONE: Good morning T/E! Today is TUESDAY, JANUARY 17th, 2017 and it is SUGAR AWARENESS WEEK. It is also day THREE of the schedule. Today’s lunch menu includes A MEATBALL SANDWICH.

     

    TWO: The T/E, Valley Forge African American Culture Club and the Conestoga African American Student Union united for a day of enlightenment, education and service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. There was a great discussion with about 50 other students and parents from around the region on the climate of society in the past and present. It was discussed what we must stop doing, what we must start doing, and what we must continue to do in the future in our society. We would like to thank the T/E school district for their support of our students in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King.

     

    ONE: Congratulations to the students from TEMS who competed at the Princeton PRIME Math Competition on Saturday. The highest scoring overall  individual competitor was Andrew H. The first place team was the TEMS team made up of Andrew H, Andy M, David W, and Eric Z. TEMS also received awards for high scores in the individual written rounds. Eric Z and Andy M tied for 10th place, William H placed 7th, David W was 4th and Andrew H earned 1st place. The second test emphasized accuracy.  Eric Z and David W tied for 5th place, Andy M placed 4th and Andrew H was 1st. 7th graders Reese W and Rachel J received awards for 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, among the young women competitors.

    ONE: Good morning T/E! Today is FRIDAY, JANUARY 13th, 2017 and it is NATIONAL STICKER DAY. It is also day ONE of the schedule. Today’s lunch menu includes FRENCH BREAD PIZZA.

     

    TWO: Any interested leadership students should see Mrs. Rickel in room 203 by end of the day TODAY to pick up a pan and directions for the MLK casserole drive.

     

    ONE: Today’s Reading Olympics Club meeting is cancelled.

    Weather: Currently it’s 45 degrees.

    The wind chill makes it feels like 40 degrees.

    Today we’ll have a high of 46 degrees with PARTLY SUNNY SKIES.

    Tonight’s low will be 25 degrees.

    Tomorrow we’ll have a SNOW with a high of 32 and a low of 27.

    TWO: Thirty-nine students competed in the TEMS schoolwide Geography Bee this past Thursday and the top ten students were as follows: Andrei T, Arjun A, Arun T, Evan L, Sidd O, Linc Z, Dermott B, Sanjay A, Jack S. And the champion was Conan C. Great job to all who participated.

     

    ONE: This week’s Word of the Week is GUMPTION, a noun meaning initiative; aggressiveness; resourcefulness. For example: It took a lot of gumption for the child to ask the baseball player for his autograph.

     

    Now over to Student Council.


    SC: Monday we have off from school in honor of the Martin Luther King National Day of Service.  If you would like to participate in our casserole service project this year, pick up a pan on the way out of school TODAY.  Prepare it this weekend with your family and put it in the freezer.  Bring your frozen casserole to school on Tuesday, after the MLK holiday, and drop it off to the volunteers on the way in!  Thanks in advance for your generosity.
