Summer Reading
Reading is at the heart of any successful school program. Students who have access to books and spend time reading instead of watching TV are more likely to be good readers. Research findings from the National Assessment of Educational Progress correlate required reading with higher reading performances and better vocabulary.

Students entering 5th and 6th Grades
To emphasize the importance of reading, students at T/E Middle School are required to read at least two books over the summer. One book should be chosen from the list, while the other may be a free choice (either from the list or another source).

Students who receive reading support will be given a list of recommended books by their reading teacher.

Students will be asked to complete an assignment based on the required reading. Please check the links below for Reading Lists and Assignments.
