What is a Virtual Field Trip?  Museums, exhibits and Points of Special Interest which offer multimedia guided tours on the Web are virtual field trips. The interactive exposure, the sights and sounds will leave you with a rich memorable experience. Most present text and pictures, others in addition transmit sound and an occasional movie.

• Take the whole class on a field trip as an introduction to a unit or as a culminating activity.
• Design a "Virtual Scavenger Hunt" or "CyberHunt."
• Allow children to randomly peruse the contents of a virtual museum.
• Start each day with a new "Point of Interest" site that will be displayed on your screen all day.
