T/E Joint High
School was begun (It later became a Junior High School) |
Students came from Strafford, Devon,
Berwyn, Paoli, Malvern and part of Willistown township. There
were about 100 students in the school and the school day lasted
from 9am until 3pm. Students studied Latin, German, algebra,
geometry, English, and science. There was no cafeteria so
students brought lunch in sacks. Senior boys had the privilege of
eating in the furnace room
where they could toast their
sandwiches over the hot coals during the winter months.
