    Classroom ABCs

     

    A is for

    Attendance- Much of our learning will take place together in class. Please plan for your child to attend school every day, except in cases of illness or emergency! Missed work will be sent home when your child returns and must be completed and returned by the assigned date.

     

    B is for…

    Book orders- Once a month, a Scholastic book order form will come home.  This is a great way to purchase books inexpensively, while helping our class earn points toward our classroom library!  If you’d like to place an order, you may order online or by returning the order form and check to school by the assigned due date.

     

    C is for …

    Communication – Communication is the key to a successful parent-teacher relationship. You can contact me several ways; email phone or send a note to school with your child.  

     D is for…

    Dismissal- School ends at 3:20.  You must send in a note to school if your child is to go home a different way than his/her normal way.  If you forget to write a note or plans change, please call the office and let them know of the change. 

     E is for…

    Emergencies- Please make sure the school has the correct emergency information on file for your child.  If phone numbers change, you can call or send in a note so your child’s file can be updated!

    Field Trips Your child will go on two field trips in the spring. More information will be sent home closer to the date.

     G is for…

    Gym- Please make sure your child is dress appropriately so they can participate in gym.

    H is for…

    Homework Folder – The Homework folder will be sent home every night. Be sure to check it and make sure your child returns this folder to school every single day. Any forms or notes for me or the office should be brought to school in this folder.

    I is for…

    Illness - If your child is ill, please keep them home until they feel better.

    J is for…

    Jewelry, Toys, & Electronics- Please keep these items at home. They are distractions and could be damaged, lost or stolen.

    K is for…

    Keep In Touch- Please feel free to contact me by e-mail, call me at school, or send a note in with your child if you have questions or concerns at any time.

    L is for…

    Lunch- Our lunch/recess time is from 12:20 until 1:00.  A lunch menu will be sent home each month. Please make sure your child knows their pin number and that there is money in their account.

    M is for…

    Money- When sending in lunch money to school, please put it in an envelope or bag with your child’s full name and pin number on it.

    N is for…

    Nurture- It is important that you and I work as a team to help your child grow academically and emotionally this year. Lots of exciting things will occur in third grade. You’ll be amazed at what your child can do!

    O is for…

    Organization- Set up a special spot in your home for your child to do his/her homework and a special place to keep their school things. Try to have a scheduled time for daily homework and reading.

    P is for…

    Parties- If you would like to help with a class parties,  please let our Core Parent know. 

    Q is for…

    Quick and Quiet Hellos- As you volunteer or visit in the school, please acknowledge your child with a “quick and quiet” wave hello.  It is important for them to greet you, but to remain involved in class activities.

    R is for…

    Reading- We will be doing lots of reading in third grade. Students are expected to read 20 minutes nightly at home. Please allow time for your child to read to you. Read books to them that are more advanced than their reading level and share with them your love for reading!

    S is for…

    School Supplies- Please replenish supplies several times throughout the year.

     T is for…

    Tardies- Students should be at school no later than 8:45!  Arriving after this time causes students to lose important instructional time

     

     U is for…

    Unique- Every child is unique in the own special way.

     V is for…

    Volunteers- A perfect opportunity for you to volunteer is through class parties and PTO events.  Get in touch with the PTO to see how you can help!

    W is for…

    Water Bottles – Students are allowed to have water bottles in the classroom. Please make sure they are cleaned on a regular basis.

     X, Y, and Z are for…

    I am eXcited to work with You and your child this year!  Make sure he/she gets plenty of Zzzzz!
