Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am pleased to share the following information regarding the T/E School District’s 1:1 Technology Initiative, which will provide all students with a District device during the school year.
Using a District Device
Expectations and rules pertaining to the use of a District-provided device are outlined in the following documents:
• Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5414 – Electronic Communication Devices: Use by Students
• Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 8080 – Acceptable Use of Technology
By picking up a District-provided device, you are acknowledging the terms outlined in the above Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.
Family Cost-Sharing Fee
Families of students in grades K-4 are asked to pay an annual cost-sharing fee of $15 per student, and families of students in grades 5-12 are asked to pay an annual cost-sharing fee of $50 per student. This fee covers Accidental Damage Protection for the device, as well as a case and set-up/maintenance of the device. There is a maximum annual family fee of $100. The fee can be paid online in advance via PowerSchool (log in to powerschool.tesd.net, click “Payments” on left side of page) or by check (made out to TESD) when the device is distributed. If paying by check, please include your child’s Student ID on the memo line of the check. Please contact your child’s counselor or administrator prior to your child picking up their device if the cost-sharing fee poses a financial hardship for your family. Additional information regarding the family cost-sharing fee can be found at www.tesd.net/laptops.
