New Principal Appointed at Hillside Elementary School Effective July 1, 2019
At its regular meeting on January 28, 2019, the Tredyffrin/Easttown Board of School Directors appointed Michele Staves as principal of Hillside Elementary School effective July 1, 2019. Diane Cohle, Hillside Elementary School’s current principal, announced her retirement effective June 30, 2019.
Mrs. Staves previously served as assistant principal at Conestoga High School and T/E Middle School. Most recently, she held the position of curriculum supervisor, overseeing language arts, kindergarten, media centers, staff development and summer reading camp. Prior to her administrative roles in T/E, she taught English, reading and gifted support. As a T/E administrator, Mrs. Staves has been a member of many District Committees including the Diversity Committee, where she served as chair, the Staff Development Advisory Council, the Strategic Planning Committee and the School Board Public Information Committee.
Mrs. Staves holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from the University of Scranton, and a Master of Education degree in Reading and Principal Certification from Lehigh University. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as principal at Hillside Elementary School. I am thrilled to become part of the caring community of families, teachers and staff who work together to meet the needs of all Hillside students. Hillside is an amazing school that fosters a climate where all individuals feel respected, supported and safe. I look forward to nurturing that school climate and upholding the fine educational programs established under Diane Cohle’s leadership,” states Mrs. Staves.
