Conestoga High School Announces Commencement Plans

On May 1, 2020, Dr. Amy Meisinger, principal of Conestoga High School, shared plans for commemorating our graduating seniors. These plans were graduation cap created with input from seniors, seniors' parents and staff members.

Commencement Ceremony

As long as state and local regulations permit, we plan to hold a traditional commencement ceremony on Conestoga High School's Teamer Field on July 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM.

If we are unable to host a full ceremony, we will hold a modified ceremony in the order listed below. The final details will depend on state guidelines in place at the time.
  • Social Distancing Commencement on Teamer Field - Students and guests would be seated six feet apart. If necessary, guests may be limited and protocols may need to be established to comply with state or local restrictions. The ceremony would be broadcast on TETV and live streamed.
  • Social Distancing Commencement on Teamer Field with Students Only - Students would be seated six feet apart. The ceremony would be broadcast on TETV and live streamed.
  • Individual Graduation Ceremonies on Teamer Field - Each student would be assigned a time for an individual ceremony on Teamer Field with guests as permissible. Each ceremony will be videotaped and produced into a full graduation program to be shared with families and broadcast on a later date.
A decision regarding which option we will pursue will be made by July 1st in order to finalize plans with vendors, identify equipment needs and allow time for our families to make necessary arrangements.

In addition to the commencement ceremony this summer, Conestoga will host a reception for the Class of 2020 during Thanksgiving Break this November 2020. This will be an opportunity for the class to reunite, reminisce, and reconnect!
