School Board Approves 2022-2023 Proposed Final Budget

At its regular meeting on April 25, 2022, the Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board took the next step in the State-mandated budget development process with the approval of the 2022-2023 Proposed Final Budget. The School Board and Administration will continue to work to close the projected operating deficit of almost $6 million between now and final budget approval in June 2022.

The 2022-2023 Proposed Final Budget includes $160,786,947 of projected revenue, $4,656,111 in fund balance contributions, $165,443,058 in authorized spending. The final property tax rate will not be set until the June Board meeting. The administration has worked to reduce the operating deficit by presenting additional revenue opportunities along with cost-reduction strategies to the Board.  Some of the items included in the development of the operating budget were additional ESSER grant funds, property assessed value growth, reductions in departmental and school-level budgets, contribution to the capital fund, additional professional and support staff, and increased hourly rates for support staff.

The development of the 2022-2023 budget will continue to be discussed at the upcoming May 9, 2022 Finance Committee meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Tredyffrin/Easttown Administration Offices. The 2022-2023 Final Budget and property tax rate will not be set until the June 13 regular Board meeting.
