Gratitude at Hillside!

food drive

Hillside students collected over 40 bags of non-perishable food items to be donated to the Great Valley Food Cupboard in November. Fourth grade students (pictured here), with the coordination of Ms. Beth Chapman, assisted in the donation by helping to load the bags for delivery.  Through our school counseling program, we regularly discuss the value of gratitude in our lives. Sharing our treasures, time, and talents with those who are in need, can help us to recognize how much we good we have in our lives. Even when things are going well, it’s not unusual for young children (and adults!) to have moments where it’s tough to feel that way. However, studies show that expressing gratitude can have benefits such as supporting physical and mental well-being, boosting self-esteem, and enhancing sleep quality; all of which contribute to happier, healthier children.  Thank you to our wonderful Hillside community for their generous donations and model of gratitude!
