Third grade geologists in Mrs. Baker’s classroom at Hillside Elementary worked in pairs to closely observe and identify different types of rocks during their “Rocks and Minerals” unit in science recently. They evaluated the rocks in terms of color, grain size, hardness, and composition before sharing ideas and then listing the rock names on their worksheets. Students were excited to work together to learn new observation skills and geology terms.
