Follow the Leading Player and her mysterious troupe of performers as they join Pippin, a young prince in search of adventure and purpose! Along a magical journey, Pippin goes to war, travels, and experiences all the riches of life. Convinced that wiping out tyranny would be a noble cause, Pippin murders his father, King Charlemagne, becoming king himself. Pippin tries to grant all the wishes of the people, but quickly realizes that it is an impossible task, and begs the Leading Player to bring his father back to life. Falling into despair after his many encounters, Pippin meets widowed farm owner Catherine, and experiences the strange serenity of a quiet domestic life. Find out if a tranquil existence will bring Pippin true happiness!
The original production of Pippin, premiered on Broadway in 1972 and won five Tony Awards and five Drama Desk Awards before closing in 1977. A 2013 Revival won best Revival of a Musical.
