2023-2024 Back to School Information

Dear New Eagle Families,

I hope you have had a healthy and enjoyable summer!  Our dedicated staff members have been diligently preparing to welcome your children back to school with open arms and a commitment to providing the best educational experience possible. Please know that your children's well-being, safety, and academic growth remain our top priorities.

My apologies for a very lengthy email, but we want you to have access to all of this information as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

Teacher Assignments

On Wednesday, August 23rd, teacher assignments will be available in the Parent Portal in PowerSchool.  Information about how to access PowerSchool can be found on the TESD website here. Teacher assignments are firm following a process that began in the Spring and has continued throughout the summer. If enrollment numbers change before school begins, we may need to revise class assignments to follow district guidelines.

School Hours

School starts for elementary students at 9:10 AM and concludes at 3:45 PM (grades 1 – 4).  The morning kindergarten session runs from 9:10 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. and afternoon kindergarten begins at 12:50 p.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m.

Morning Vehicle Drop-Off

Students should be dropped off at the upper carpool circle between 8:45-9:10 a.m.   In anticipation of longer carlines, students who are dropped off between 8:45-9:00 will enter the cafeteria and remain seated until 9:00 when they will be allowed to go to their classroom.  If, for personal hardship reasons, students must be dropped off at 8:30, early drop-off is permitted.  Parents who need before school care prior to 8:30 a.m. may contact A Child’s Place (ACP) which provides onsite before and after school childcare beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Afternoon Vehicle Pick-Up

Name cards will be sent home with all students on the first day of school.  Drivers must present name cards of all students they are picking up in the windshield of their vehicle in order to facilitate a quick, smooth dismissal.

Zone 1 – Upper Circle (The first right turn as you come down our driveway).

Use this zone if you have one single student to pick-up.

Zone 2 – Lower Circle.  (Drive straight to the very end of our driveway).

Use this zone if you are picking up more than one student.

Much more detailed information about morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures are in the Student Handbook (linked here).

New Family Orientation

We will hold an orientation for new students in grades 1-4 on Friday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m.  This is a chance for you and your child(ren) to attend a presentation about New Eagle and our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  More importantly, it is a chance for you and your child(ren) to have a student-led tour of the building!

School Supplies Ordered Through PTO

Unfortunately, we were informed by the Schoolkidz company that the supply kits we were supposed to receive this week are delayed in transit.  If you pre-ordered school supplies, we will inform you immediately when they arrive.  Our teachers are aware and will be very flexible as we start the year.

Our staff is eager to begin working with your children this school year!  Never hesitate to reach out to me if there is anything I can do to support you or your children.
