Good morning, T/E! Today is MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2021, and it is NATIONAL SAUSAGE PIZZA DAY. It is also day FOUR of the schedule. Today’s lunch includes CHICKEN TENDERS WITH DIPPING SAUCE.


Reading Olympics is officially starting for the 2021-2022 school year! The first meeting will be tomorrow afternoon from 3:15 until 4:00 in Room 111. Anyone interested, please email or see Mrs. Clark in Room 111 or Ms. Neary in Room 174 for more information.


Jazz Band sign-ups are open now. The following instrument options are available for interested students: Saxophones, trombones, trumpets, drums, piano, electric guitar, and bass guitar. Students must have some experience playing the chosen instrument; beginners are not eligible for Jazz Band. Interested students should join the “Jazz Auditions 2021-2022” Schoology group or ask Mr. Stefano or Mr. Seaton for information.


The Robotics and Jr. Robotics clubs are now accepting applications. Students should go to the Clubs and Activities section of the TEMS website to get information and complete an application. See Mr. Broadhead in room 205 or Mr. Nunnelee in 203 for questions not answered by the website.


The first meeting of the Multicultural Club is Wednesday, Oct 13. The club is a fun space to enjoy learning about cultures and to teach others about your own culture. The Multicultural club also creates entertaining activities for TEMS students. In the past, the club has helped with World Traditions Day, World Food Day, World Music Day, and the Cultural Museum. Club meetings are held during 4th period lunch and activity for 7th & 8th graders, but also welcomes 5th & 6th graders to visit or present in schoolwide activities. Students that participate will bring lunch and join the club in room 206 at the start of 4th period. For questions, contact Ms. Elshakhs or Senorita Neto.


Our 18th annual PINK DAY will be Thursday. PINK DAY is the day TEMS comes together as a community to show support for those who are dealing with cancer in their lives. Wear PINK from head-to-toe to show caring and support for one another. Funds will also be raised for Ryan’s Case for Smiles. This organization. which was started by a family in the TE school district, makes colorful and fun pillowcases for children dealing with life-threatening illnesses all over the country. Shirts, ribbons, stickers, donuts, pretzels and juice will all be sold this week to help support Ryan’s Case for Smiles.


Students interesting in joining the Coding, Engineering and Design Club will have an opportunity to explore computer programming, robotics, engineering, and design work throughout the year. Students will utilize technology, 3D printers, laser cutters, and power tools/machinery. The club will meet Wednesdays after school in 122A, the Tech Ed room starting October 20th. Please see Mr. Mumford before homeroom for more information or to grab a permission slip in room 122A.
