• African American Culture Club

    The African American Culture Club is open to all students interested in learning more about historical and contemporary topics regarding African American students.

    Art Club

    Students will work independently and collaboratively on projects using a variety of media and techniques. Art Club will be available to the first 20 students who sign up outside of Room 107 every art club day. You must sign up every week to stay. If school is closed, art club will be made up on Wednesday the same week.

    Junior Model UN

     

    Junior Model UN is an academically challenging club that introduces students to the world of international relations and diplomacy. The application process begins in late-November and meetings for selected students will begin in December.

    Mathcounts is national middle school competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging "bee" style contests.

    The Multicultural Club provides an opportunity for students in grades 5-8 to meet every other week with other students who are interested in promoting awareness of and appreciation for different cultures.

    My School in Motion Club

    Interested students will participate in activities to generate participation and enthusiasm within the school community for the goals of the ‘My School in Motion’ grant program.  Walking or biking groups, organizing inter-school challenges, audits of walking and biking routes to the VFMS, talks from Transportation Planning professionals…and other creative activities.

    Newspaper Club

    Newspaper Club is open to any student with an interest in learning how to seek news stories, complete interviews, gather facts, and compose news articles to be published in our school newspaper, The Forger. Students are expected to, use multiple resources to write about school events as assigned, properly complete the editing, revising, and saving process, and meet all deadlines for rough and final drafts.

    Prism

    Reading Olympics

    Provides an opportunity for students in grades, 5,6,7, or 8, who enjoy reading to meet every other week with other avid readers. Students will read books in teams and represent Valley Forge Middle School in a country-wide competition where they will answer questions about the books they have read.

    Robotics 5/6

    Students will be introduced to the concepts and technologies used in robotics through the VEX IQ system. Students will also experience problem-solving, communication, creative thinking, teamwork, and collaboration.

    Running Club

    Running Club is open to any student in grades 5-8 with an interest in running. No previous experience is needed and all ability levels are welcome. Students should bring a change of clothes and sneakers for each club meeting.

    Science Olympiad Club

    Team competition in which students compete in events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.

    Speech and Debate Club

    The Speech and Debate Club is open to middle school students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.  The club provides an opportunity for students to be involved in various forms of public speaking and compete at the Chester County Forensics Tournament in the spring. Event categories include: Debate, Discussion (Pre-cursor to debate), Duo Interpretation, Impromptu, Original Speech (Informative/Persuasive), Original Poetry/Prose, Poetry, Prose. Students may select a topic of their choice with the exception of discussion and debate. This club is a fun way to hone public speaking skills and develop self-confidence. This club meets every other Wednesday from 3:30-4:30.

    Winter Chess Club

    Chess club is open to any students in grades 5-8.  The club is designed to give kids an opportunity to learn the game of chess, improve tactical skills, and enjoy competition against peers.  There are no tournaments or official competitions.  All levels are welcome. Club runs January-March.

    Yoga Club

    Yoga club is open to any students in grades 5-8. Yoga club offers students a chance to learn and practice yoga together. It is an opportunity to slow down after the school day to learn basic yoga poses which can help reduce stress and increase flexibility and strength. Students need to bring their own yoga mat.
