Support Materials for ACA Discussion
November 5, 2014 - This session was led by attorneys from Wisler/Pearlstine, who provided the Board with an overview of the ACA’s amended requirements.
December 16, 2014 - The purpose of this meeting was for the Board to gain information about current District staffing, discuss possible options to address the ACA, and the impact of those options. The focus was mainly on the current ACA-defined full-time aides and paras.
January 12, 2015 - This session was designed to review substitute and variable hour employee staffing, options for these groups that would address the ACA requirements, and the potential impacts of the options. January 20, 2015 – This session carried forward the options that were available to the District in staffing all three areas (substitutes, variable hour employees, aides/paras over 30 hours).
February 3, 2015 - The Board met in executive session prior to the School Board meeting and reviewed the final presentation, which was released as part of the public documents for the February 3 meeting. (The meeting was originally scheduled for January 26 but was postponed due to inclement weather.)
