    TESD Community Invited to Submit Name Ideas through December 6, 2024

    The T/E School District is excited to announce a unique opportunity for our community to contribute to the legacy of our District by submitting name ideas for our new elementary school, located at 1200 W. Swedesford Road in Berwyn. Beginning November 8, 2024, and continuing through 5:00 pm on December 6, 2024, all members of the public, including students, parents, staff members, and residents, are invited to submit name suggestions through the TESD New Elementary School Name Submission Form.

    Naming Criteria

    Based on Board Policy 7080, the school name should be indicative of the area in which it is located and not named after individuals or groups. Only names that meet these criteria will be considered.

    Additional considerations when submitting name suggestions:

    • Historical and geographical significance
    • Ease of spelling and pronunciation
    • Distinct from the names of other schools in the surrounding area

    All name suggestions submitted for the new elementary school will be subject to review by local first responder organizations, including fire, police and emergency medical services. This review is designed to prevent any confusion or delays in response times during emergencies. 

    Next Steps

    After the submission period closes, the TESD administration will review the list of submitted names to ensure they meet the established criteria. The list of name suggestions, along with additional background information, will be shared with the community at the January Ad Hoc Public Information Committee Meeting. At this meeting, members of the public will have the chance to offer feedback on the potential names.
