• Safe2Say Something Anonymous Reporting System

    On January 14, 2019, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania launched a statewide anonymous reporting system called “Safe2Say Something” (S2SS) that allows students and adults to submit anonymous tips related to individuals who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others. The S2SS program originated under the Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit violence prevention organization, and is now mandated under PA state law.

    The S2SS system provides three methods for students or adults to report anonymous safety tips or concerns:

    1. S2SS app: available for Apple and Android devices 
    2. Website: www.safe2saypa.org
    3. S2SS Crisis Tip Line (24 hours a day): 1-844-SAF2SAY

    All schools in the State are required to train secondary students annually. Every fall, TESD middle school and high school students will be trained on how to recognize warning signs and signals of concern and how a tip can be submitted in the S2SS system. While elementary students will not participate in training, information about S2SS will be shared at the elementary level.

    While we continue to encourage students to tell a trusted adult about any concerns, the new and existing anonymous tip lines provide additional options for reporting concerns. In addition to S2SS, the current anonymous reporting mechanisms, Campus Crimebusters (215) 546-TIPS and the local police department tip lines, remain available.

    Parents and guardians can assist by reinforcing with their children the importance of being alert to possible signs and signals of trouble among their peers and the methods available to share any concerns.
