Parent Volunteer ProgramT/E residents and parents are actively involved in the T/E School District. Approximately 900 parents and community members annually volunteer in our District schools. They serve as aides in classrooms, media centers, and offices; they assist with many PTO activities, present cultural programs that enhance our students’ experiences, and offer after-school programs that extend and enrich the curriculum. At Conestoga High School, parents and community members volunteer to help in some of the offices, Attendance, CPR Training, Homecoming and many more activities throughout the year. The daily presence of volunteers helps to make the high school a true community in which our students thrive and succeed. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please contact Jeanne Braun, Coordinator of Community and Volunteer Services at (610) 240-1913 or (610) 240-1145.Important Notice Regarding Volunteer Clearance RequirementsAs the result of new amendments to the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) enacted on July 1, 2015, implementation of the requirement for volunteer clearances is now in effect. This means that some school volunteers will need background clearances in order to volunteer in our schools during the 2019-2020 school year. The new amendments include significant changes to the CPSL. Most notably, only volunteers with regular and repeated contact with students and who are responsible for care, supervision, guidance or control of children will need clearances.
At Conestoga, this includes volunteers who work or spend time directly with students including field trips and driving students. Additionally, TEMPO and Booster Club Organizations will communicate with members which volunteer positions require clearances.
Additionally, renewal of clearances is required every five (5) years. Thank you to all of our school volunteers who have already obtained background clearances based on the previous version of the law. Your clearances will be current for five years from the date you obtained them. We appreciate your patience and support.
